Nodame Cantabile
cover of the first issue
Reggie told me about it a couple of months ago but wasn’t really up to it so I looked for it on veoh, bookmarked it, and left it there to rot for 2-3 months until yesterday. I was looking for movies that people uploaded and I looked at my bookmarks and lo and behold I saw Nodame Cantabile highlighted. Whatever, can’t be that bad, can’t it? I thought and I wasn’t disappointed. I’m not going to bother reading the manga. I think I won’t be as involved as I was with the anime because you can’t really hear the music on paper, you have to rely on other characters to describe it for you, and in this day and age nobody will know what a Rachmaninov or what a Debussy will sound like so forget about reading it though i did hear that the manga is funnier but oh well…
The first couple of episodes are funny as hell but I like the subtle change to seriousness towards the end. You can also see the change of attitude and relationship between the characters that seems so natural and effortless (in its expression). Though it was set in an adult world ( you know what i mean… old… after college type thing) it still retained ITS highschool innocence in terms of the plot line and in the interactions between all of them.
The animation remimded me of Honey… or was it Clover something?… mmm… ah well I only saw a preview and like this one, I think I won’t watch it for a long time. Now I’m watching the live action adaptation and so far they stuck to the stuff from the anime but I’m worried about the piano playing though… aahh
Well, I RECOMMEND IT!!! WATCH IT!!! HAKABAKASHII!!!
